I think you are supposed to you the posts to tell everyone about Flashes or audio tracks that you are working on, but most people on NG seem to use them as a sort of diary. You can also use them to ask for advice on various topics and invite people to participate in flash collaborations, stuff like that.
I use mine to complain about my mishaps, disasters and general misfortune, but I am a bit of a n00b too.
